Cravings…

Standard

It had been a while since I’ve craved sugar or sweets, but that all changed yesterday. I got an overwhelming craving for chocolate. My office mate talked about going to Sonic and I was very tempted to get an M&M Blast. So, I walked into my husband’s office and took 4 chocolate kisses (ok, I took 3 first then went back for 1 more) from his leftover Christmas stash. It hit the spot. Unfortunately, the way it normally works with me, I wanted more. I wanted a whole candy bar, or a chocolate cake, or Hershey nuggets…anything with A LOT of chocolate. I have a hard time controlling my sugar intake when it comes to candy and desserts. However, I am happy to say I kept my happy butt in my chair and didn’t raid the receptionists candy jar or even go to the store to get my fix.  I ate my apple and tried to think of other things. So, I’m quite happy with how it turned out. 4 kisses was about 100 calories, so it wasn’t too bad.

Then, when I got home, I signed up for a gym membership to 24 hour fitness. I need to get back to working out and my excuse for the past couple of months have been “But it’s cooollldd…” Our treadmill is in our garage that has no heat in the winter and no air in the summer so it’s rarely comfortable in there. So, I’m taking that excuse away. If I go to the gym, it will be climate controlled. 24 hour fitness is $35 a month, but my cousin told me about the Fitness Connection that’s $10 a month. I’m waiting for a call back from their manager to find out how much an “all locations” membership would be with them. If it’s substantially cheaper, I may consider switching. They have one close to work and home. However, I would have to check out one of the locations. There’s no point in joining a gym if there’s not enough equipment to go around. Know what I mean, Jelly Bean?!

I hope everyone has a good day today! Today is my orientation for the Woodlands Fit. It’s supposed to rain, hopefully it doesn’t rain too much as we’re supposed to do a run tonight too. Eek!
