So, I didn’t work out yesterday. I kept putting it off and putting it off and finally said “Screw it” and didn’t give it another thought. Of course, this is the path to destruction and I recognize that.
That being said. I weighed in at 214.7 today. Woohoo! Another loss. Not bad considering I hadn’t been counting my calories. I have, however, been careful of how much I’ve eaten portion wise. This Saturday is my Muddy Trails run. I am and I’m not looking forward to it. It isn’t until 5:30 in the evening. It would be nice to have it as a morning run (like the first year) but no one really wants to eat crawfish at 9 in the morning! The smell alone was enough to make me nauseous.
Have a good Wednesday all! I’ll check back in later.
Yesterday was supposed to be a workout day, but I had to get a couple of quilt blocks done to be mailed out today. Priorities people?! lol. Today is another workout day, so not all is lost. I haven’t been real diligent in tracking my calories lately, but I know I haven’t eaten too many because I haven’t been eating as much as usual. Mike being sick threw a lot of things out of balance for me. One of which is cooking dinner. He preferred to eat soup, so I didn’t cook a whole lot. In fact, I skipped a meal here and there. I KNOW…not good. I’ve gotten better about it. I’m also going to try to track my calories from here on out.
I had to go to the post office today to mail out the aforementioned blocks. On the way back to the office I stopped at Kroger’s and got lunch.
I love spinach salads. The cheese kinda fell off in one clump, so it looks like it’s covered in cheese when it really wasn’t. I added some black olives, sunflower seeds, and jalapenos. Mmmm.mmm.good. I think my body was craving a good salad.
While there I also picked up one of my guilty pleasures. They didn’t have Oxygen, which I like quite a bit, but they did have Shape:
Funny enough, it has Chelsea Handler on the cover. She’s been popping up a lot lately in odd places.
Ok, back to work. I’ll be sure to update with today’s workout. Have a good one!
I forgot to post my Thursday workout. This was my first fit class since I got back from vacation. It was good to be back with the group, although the group seemed quite small. My cousin wasn’t there and neither was her friend Clara. I wonder if Clara quit. Coach Liz walked with me so I wouldn’t be going alone since no one else in my group was there. My group? Yeah, I’m not in the A group. This means that I’m a walker doing a smidgen of running. Translation = I’m slow! It doesn’t matter, I got in over 2 1/2 miles and got some good running in. My legs were slow the next day, that’s usually a good sign.
My husband started getting sick Thursday night and ended up staying on Friday. Then all night Friday he tossed and turned…and tossed and turned….and tossed…and I didn’t get much sleep at all. My alarm went of at 6 because I was supposed to be at fit club at 7. Well, I turned off the alarm, turned over and quickly fell back asleep. I had to run some errands today, including picking up a patch for our waterbed mattress. I’m hoping that patch works. After my errands, I went back to the park where we did our workout on Thursday. I thought Coach Liz said the entire loop was 3.25 miles. However, I took the route we were supposed to do on Thursday and it only came out to 2.14 miles. On Thursday we went down, then turned around. We didn’t do the loop. I got back to the car and saw how little I’d gone, but I didn’t go back to do my last mile. I was in a hurry to get to the grocery store and get home.
Now, it’s time to fill out my census form and send it in.
Only 6 days until Muddy Trails!
I weighed in at an unhealthy 215.6 this morning, and yesterday morning. So, I’m down almost a pound in the past 2 weeks. Not too bad considering I had vacation in there!
Last night as we were getting ready for bed I hear Mike yell “Tammy, can you bring me a glass please? Quick.” Now, at first it didn’t really concern me, but when I heard the “quick” added on the end followed by the realization that he was in our bedroom, I was a little scared to see what I would find. I grabbed the first glass I could find and ran into the room. There he was, holding our mattress up with a mass of wet paper towels. Now, we have a water bed…so this isn’t as odd as it may sound. Apparently, he ripped the seem in the corner of the bladder and it was leaking like a sieve. We were able to put some heavy duty clamps on the end and tie it up so it would stop leaking. Then we moved into the guest bedroom for the evening. The dogs aren’t normally allowed in that bedroom, but I didn’t want to leave them in our bedroom where they would more than likely jump on the bed and knock everything apart, hence soaking the floor with gallons and gallons of water. Tonight we’re going to try to drain it the best we can then patch it up. We’ll see if it works!
Gotta love my hubby!
Yesterday I wasn’t really feeling it, so I didn’t do my workout.
However, today was such a beautiful day (well, yesterday was too) that I decided to go walk at Sylvan Beach instead of going to the gym. Only one problem…when I got there, there wasn’t a trail for walking. There was a small walk area, which I felt pretty sure I’d have to walk back and forth about 50 times to get a mile. The wind was blowing pretty good, and it was nice to see the gulf.
Thankfully, there was a large field next to the park that was not being used by anyone. So, I walked around the field a few times (about 6) for a total of 2.2 miles.
The ground was squishy (not wet) so it was kinda like walking on a mattress at some parts. The ground was very uneven in parts as well so it was a definite workout on my calves and buttocks! It felt good though. Well worth it. I will not be walking it again though. I get bored walking in circles!
There was some interesting smells as well; a little old shrimp and a little port-a-potty…ew.
Well, vacation is over and it’s back to the real world! My week went by way too fast, but not so fast that I didn’t get my workouts in!
Monday’s workout consisted of walking the grounds at the Biltmore. It was quite cold, but we were able to get 2.7 miles in.
On Tuesday we went to the North Carolina Arboretum and hiked to Lake Powhatan. The entire hike was 4.43 miles.
This was one of the hardest winters they have in a while, which was evident by all of the trees that were broken and dead because of all of the weight from the snow and ice.
Wednesday, I did my workout by walking the roads behind my parents’ house. It was quite a tough workout because I wasn’t used to walking such steep hills! The total workout was 2.84 miles.
Thursday was an easy “nature walk” with my nephews. We were again in my parents’ subdivision, but we went up into the tree line and wondered around some other people’s land. All together, it was only 1.26 miles, but it was still a nice workout with the hills.
Friday we spent the day walking around the Riverside Cemetery. I didn’t track distance because it wasn’t a workout…it was just a nice stroll outside. Friday was the first day we had a beautiful day. Then Saturday I spent all day traveling back home. All in all, it was a great vacation!
Ok, so I forgot to weigh in yesterday. I was in a hurry to get out of the house and just didn’t think about it. Since it’s only one day later, I figured my weight probably isn’t too far off what it would have been yesterday.
Today’s weigh in was 216.1. That’s 1.5lbs down!! I’m so excited to see that number finally creeping down again.
Confession time…I have been eating poorly lately. I haven’t been consuming an exorbitant amount of calories, in fact I’ve stayed quite close to my calorie range. The problem is I haven’t been eating as healthy as I should. I’ve had french fries and chocolate…no not together! It really defeats the purpose of trying to get healthier if I’m not going to eat healthy foods. So…I need to get my butt back in gear. I definitely need to make smarter choices while I’m on vacation. I do NOT want to bring back extra baggage with me!
