Ok, starting a new period of health and fitness starting today! I don’t like putting pictures of myself but I think I need to put all the nastiness out there. I’ll use my weight from last Friday but will be weighing in again tomorrow morning.
Height: 5′ 6″
I’ve pledged to run/walk 50 miles in October. That’s the most I’ve done in one month…ever, so this will be a big challenge. I’m hoping that by the end of the month I’ll have lost about 5-7lbs and my mammoth calves will be smaller!
I knew I had been very lax about my workouts lately, but I didn’t realize how bad it was until I looked at my stats on the Daily Mile. I did really well for a while…had a rough May, then a horrible August and September…EEK. And we’re 2 days away from October.
So, to help combat the “I don’t wannas” I’ve joined the October Going the Distance Challenge over at Fat Girl Vs. World. I set a goal of 50 miles for me by the end of October. As you can see by the chart above, that’s a lofty goal! But…I think it’s a good goal. 25 miles would have been too easy. Gotta push it!
So…you wanna join me?!
So, My big idea was to talk to the hubster and see if it was possible for me to quit my job to spend more time on my projects. My projects being some sewing projects and myself. After a brief discussion the conclusion was no. We need the income for now. So, I’ll have to find a different way to fit in more hours during the day. I will be revisiting this. Right now I have 3 hours in the evening to workout, cook dinner, eat, and do anything else I need before bed. Need to sit down with paper and pen and try to work this out.
Lately I haven’t been doing anything to lose weight. I have been making sure I don’t binge, but by the time I get home now I’m tired and don’t want to spend an hour working out when I only have about 3 hours before bedtime. That’s my first problem. It should be a priority to get my workout in.
So, lately I’ve been thinking about making some pretty big life decisions. I won’t say what they are just yet because I’m not sure if I’m actually going to do it or not. However, it would definitely allow me to put myself as a priority. That being said, I will update again as soon as I decide what I’m going to do.
It was in the high 70’s – low 80’s today! wahoo! I may try to hop on the treadmill when I get home. Since it’s in our unventilated garage, I was waiting for it to get out of the 90’s before hopping on. Well, that and the fact that I’ve had no motivation!
A friend of mine told me to try My Net Diary for the Iphone. I had already tried LoseIt and I enjoyed it, I just got tired of inputting my food info (for recipes, etc). Since I told her I’d try it out, I downloaded it today. Ok…I’ve literally only used it once and so far I’m quite excited about it!
Why? It’s the same thing as LoseIt, right? No, it’s not. The one KEY component that MyNetDiary has that LoseIt doesn’t is a barcode scanner. I grabbed my Kind bar, and thought “ugh…I gotta enter this all in again”. But no…I used the barcode scanner, it scanned just fine and found ALL of the nutritional info and imported it into my food log for me!! How cool is that?!
It also has a lot of features, such as being able to keep track of your vitamins/prescriptions and keeping notes. You can also enter in your exercise schedule you’d like to follow for the week. So far, I’m quite impressed. I’m just using the free version at the moment. I went ahead and signed up to their web version as well so I can interact with the community (e.g. my friend if I can find her!). The web version is just as nice, if not nicer. There is an endless amount of data at your fingertips and it has a blog (not that I need one) for those of you that thought about starting one for your weight loss but just haven’t done it.
So, look me up if you decide to give it a try. My public name is just Tambo. I’ll see how long I can stick with this and what my thoughts are after a week!
